We thank you for your interest in joining the Maumelle Fire Department. We currently utilize both career and volunteer personnel to provide services to the citizens of our community. Career Positions The City of Maumelle utilizes a civil service firefighter entrance exam to establish a hiring eligibility list for the Maumelle Fire Department. This general-knowledge test is offered each October. The most recent test was October 31, 2015 and the hiring eligibility list will be valid for up to one year.For more information about the hiring process, including a full list of job requirements and a list of frequently asked questions about the employment process, CLICK HERE. Applicants for career positions must be United States citizens who: > Are at least 21 years of age and not more than 36 years of age > Are able to pass a background check, a drug test and a physical examination > Possess a high school diploma or equivalent > Possess a valid Arkansas driver's license Annual salary starts at $30,334. The current top pay for this position, which is achieved after eight years, is $37,690. This position also includes an excellent benefits package. Volunteer Positions | ||
With a minimum staffing of only five career firefighters on duty at a time, our volunteer firefighters are an integral part of our organization. We are currently interested in expanding our roster of volunteer firefighters, which are actually paid a small stipend for responding to calls and attending | ||

Interested applicants should be willing to provide: > A desire for service to the community. > An eagerness to learn new things. > Willingness to respond to calls whenever available. > Attendance at training meetings twice a month. Maumelle Fire Department will provide: > All required protective equipment. > Necessary firefighting, emergency medical & hazardous materials training. > Radio pager. > Quarterly stipend for response to calls and training attendance.
