The
fire department never closes, which means that firefighters must spend some
holidays away from their families. Engine Company 1's B shift, however, did
not have to spend New Year's Eve 2004 in solitude as they were joined by
loved ones, members of C shift and the local crew from Metropolitan EMS
(MEMS).
