Maumelle
firefighters found smoke showing from the rear of the residence upon their
arrival at 59 Oakridge Drive. A second alarm brought Engine 4 of the North
Little Rock Fire Department to the scene and all off-duty personnel were
recalled to duty to assist.

Incident
commander Captain Eugene Stacy briefs off-duty Captain Drew Nichols on the
fire after Nichols and off-duty Engineer Charles Watson responded to the
scene with Brush 1 and the department's Mobile Air Unit to refill air
cylinders.

Maumelle
and North Little Rock firefighters breech the gable of the home to inspect
for hidden pockets of fire. The fire spread through much of the home's attic
space. Fire damage was limited to the attic, but the remainder of the home
suffered significant water damage.

Nichols and an unidentified firefighter don self-contained breathing apparatus
before relieving crews inside the burning home. In the background, several
hundred feet of five-inch diameter hose is visible supplying water from a
hydrant to Engine 1.

Woody and Engineer Michael Cossey wet down areas around the chimney of the
home. Early reports indicate that the fire started in or near the
fireplace.

Nichols salvages family photos from the home to protect them from further
damage.

Firefighter Maury Loket and Volunteer Engineer Andy Wood begin to return
tools and equipment to the apparatus after the fire is contained.

Grove pulls the one-inch booster line from Engine 1 to clean gear soiled
with dirt, soot and insulation from the home's attic.
