Shortly after
a strong thunderstorm blew through the area on the afternoon of July 20,
North Little Rock firefighters were dispatched for a fire in a church at
2001 Parkway Drive in the Levy section of that city. The first arriving company
found heavy fire upon arrival. No fewer than seven stations responded to
the incident, which was complicated by high heat and humidity. In the picture
above, Truck Company 7 (operating a resere 1975 Snorkel) uses a master stream
to fight the
fire.

Approximately
two hours into the incident, North Little Rock requested Maumelle as mutual
aid to provide relief for firefighters already on scene. The Maumelle volunteers
were dispatched and four responded to the scene with Truck
1.
